How long does it take?

The test itself will take less than 2 minutes to administer.

Lateral Flow Test results will usually be visible within 3 minutes, however, the manufacturer recommends waiting a further 10 minutes to ensure result accuracy. If you are taking a Fit to Fly Lateral Flow Test, your results will be available within 12 hours of submitting your image.

PCR results will be available within 24 hours of the laboratory receiving your sample. You must take your Day 2 test on OR BEFORE Day 2 (the day you arrive is Day 0). Day 8 tests must be taken on or after Day 8, you do not need to take your Day 8 test if your Day 2 test is positive.

We recommend you order the test so it is waiting for you on arrival in the UK and you subsequently take and post the sample immediately to minimise any delay in your results being received.

What temperature should it be stored at?

This is a very resilient test and can be safely stored between 2 – 30°C

How long is the shelf life?

Please check your box for the exact date. The tests have a shelf life of 24 Months from date of manufacture

Does taking the test hurt?

No. This test is one of the only non-invasive shallow nasal tests on the market.

Please see our instruction video below for how to use it.

Is this government approved?

Yes. The test is one of the few tests officially approved and registered by the MHRA. Our PCR test service is also government approved and you can find us on the government suppliers list.

What test do I need in order to travel?

Fit-to-Fly tests for departures from the UK

Most countries now require proof of a negative Covid-19 test for entry.  Please check your destination country requirements for the type of test required and the time window during which you need to take it before departure:

  • Antigen Test: A number of other countries also accept a negative Covid-19 rapid antigen test for entry. These lateral flow tests (LFDs) are faster and less expensive than PCR tests.  If you have confirmed that your destination country accepts LFDs, book your test delivery in the required time window before travelling.

All countries: Pre-departure testing for arrivals to the UK

Wherever you’re travelling from, you must take a Covid-19 test before starting your journey to the UK prior to 4th October. Order your test kit before you travel, and we will ship it to you in the UK so that you can take it abroad with you. We are not able to ship the test kit to you abroad.

Green country Day 2 testing for arrivals to the UK

At present, Lateral Flow Testing does not offer PCR testing.

In addition to the pre-departure test, arrivals to the UK from green listed countries must take a PCR test on or before Day 2 after their arrival. There is no need to quarantine unless you test positive.

Amber country Day 2 testing for arrivals to the UK

At present, Lateral Flow Testing does not offer PCR testing.

In addition to the pre-departure test, arrivals to the UK from amber listed countries are required to quarantine for 10 days and take PCR tests on or before Day 2 and on or after Day 8 of arrival. These tests must be purchased as a bundle, even if you opt for Test to Release. If you have had two doses of an NHS administered Covid-19 vaccine, you can instead follow Green country testing rules. You will not need to quarantine on arrival, but you will still need to take a pre-departure test and a PCR test on Day 2  (see above for more information).

Test to Release – optional Day 5 test

At present, Lateral Flow Testing does not offer PCR testing.

If you’re arriving from an amber listed country, you can opt into the Test to Release scheme to cut your 10-day quarantine. You will need to take a PCR test 5 full days after your arrival and, on receiving a negative result, you will be able to leave self-isolation early.

Red list country testing for arrivals to the UK

At present, Lateral Flow Testing does not offer testing for arrivals to the UK from red listed countries.

When will my test be delivered?

If ordered before 11am, your test will be sent out to you via courier with next-day delivery Monday-Thursday. Orders made after 11am on Thursday may result in postage being delayed over the weekend.

How do I get my certificate?

For our Fit-to-Fly lateral flow tests you will login to our site and upload a photo of your test with additional required information required. We will then process and verify the results for you and issue you with the approved Fit-to-Fly certificate within 24 hours, although it is usually received within 12 hours. Lateral flow tests do not need to be returned to a laboratory. Our PCR test results will be sent to you within 24 hours of being received by the laboratory.
